Dagen zijn verstreken sinds de schietpartij en Rico maakt het tot nu toe goed. De wonden zijn nog niet helemaal genezen en hoe koppig hij ook is, hij weigert om thuis te blijven.

Mijn moeder is ook niet hersteld. Haar toestand is geen spat verbeterd. Ze ligt in een verdomde coma. Ik wil zien hoe ze zich gedraagt als ze wakker wordt. Iedereen om me heen raadt me aan om uit haar buurt te blijven, maar aangezien ik een attent persoon ben, wacht ik af of ze zal veranderen of niet.
