Onderweg zei Noah tegen Mia dat ze iedereen die in het lab werkte, moest verzamelen. Tegen zonsopgang haastte iedereen zich naar het lab, zonder te weten wat er gebeurd was, maar ze konden door de urgentie wel raden dat het iets groots was.

Wetende dat het een belangrijke zaak was, werd Mia streng op haar werk. Ze analyseerde herhaaldelijk de componenten van de etherische olie die ze van de fabriek had meegebracht en vergeleek die met de formule. Er was maar één ding dat ze niet begreep: waarom het eindproduct zo sterk verschilde van de vorige batches.

Hoewel Mia zich de afgelopen twee jaar geen zorgen meer had gemaakt over haar werk, beschikte ze nog steeds over de basisvaardigheden en -kennis die nodig zijn om parfumeur te worden. Uit de analyse bleek dat er niets mis was met de essentiële oliecomponenten. Waar kwam het probleem toen vandaan?
