Nadat ze haar handen had gewassen en terug was in de woonkamer, ging Eleanor op de bank zitten om een slok water te nemen. Ze keek even naar de tablet aan de zijkant, pakte hem na even wachten op en zette hem aan.

Ze opende de Twitter-interface, boog haar hoofd, zette haar knokkels tegen haar lippen en concentreerde zich op het laatste nieuws. Ze las niet veel vanwege haar relatie met Max, maar ze wist dat het waarschijnlijk over haar, Noah en Mia ging toen ze nog op de universiteit zaten. De tweets waren uit hun context gerukt en de feiten klopten niet helemaal.

Ze was echter meer geïnteresseerd in de nieuwsbron. Die kwam niet van Noah of Mia, maar van iemand die de identiteit van een derde omstander misbruikte. Deze mensen waren hun studiegenoten of zogenaamde gemeenschappelijke 'vrienden'.
