De edelstenenveiling was een specialiteit van Landred City. Veel plaatsen hadden hun eigen lokale delicatesse, en elke stad had wel een plek die mysterieus en uitdagend was om te bezoeken. Die plekken trokken dan ook veel toeristen, en voor Landred City was het de edelstenenveiling.

In Landred City was de edelstenenveiling een van de aanbevolen plekken om te bezoeken. Voorheen werd dit jaarlijkse evenement op een andere locatie gehouden, maar de organisator slaagde er op de een of andere manier in om dit evenement met een gokkarakter in het stadscentrum te houden.

Gokken met stenen betekende niet gokken op de steen zelf, maar op de jade en jadeïeten in de steen. Rijk of blut worden van de ene op de andere dag hing volledig af van geluk en je ogen – het was vergelijkbaar met het kopen van loten.
